500,000 just a few weeks ago. That's just Japan. I bet it was a success worldwide with such catchy, powerful dance songs and a hot look.
I hope a number #1 single is on the way and her single sales will start to reflect her rising image.
I bet her next single sells over 80,000 (minimum) if a dance song and 110,000 (minimum) if a ballad.
Predict!

Hey guys, this is my first time on the site so be nice to me! :-) Im a huge Cornelius fan but a couple of years ago I managed to lose a stunning remix of Cornelius' Count 5,6,7,8 by Yashura Konishie. Ive tried in vain to get it back for more time than Id like. Its on his Cornelius FM album but ONLY the Japanese version. I cant order it from his official page as they only deliver to Japan. If any one has it I would be so greatful. Its well worth a listen.
Email me at sexyspud2@hotmail.com if you can help.
Thanks
Martin

I found it on here originally, and thought it was perhaps the most ridiculously embarrassing song ever recorded! It was some J-pop song sung by 3 girls. It sounded like the Chipmunks on speed- Manchu Mancho or something like that. The girls were all dressed in very brightly colored outfits doing some hysterical choreography. I think there may have been a Hansel and Gretel kind of house made of sweets in the video too. I'd appreciate any help in finding this!

hitomi is one of the oldest female jpop singers still currently performing and releasing. Her solo career was around since before Namie Amuro's, and even if she hadn't achieved the same level of popularity, she is right beside her in the Jpop pantheon as a symbol of endurance and reinvention. She has sold almost 9 million albums and singles in her 10 year career. A fraction of what Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru and others have sold, but her work has always been much more consistent.
Her debut album, GO TO THE TOP, was the beginning for her. Despite two massive flop singles, the third, CANDY GIRL, set her up for a lifetime of sexual icon status. She broke off the relationship between her and TK after 5 years of collaborating. Her first non-TK albm, Thermo Plastic, is still considered one of her best and features a stunning mix of rock and electronic-pop music. Since then, her career has reinvented herself and is probably one of the only Jpop stars whose fanbase has grown since her peak.
Albums:
1. GO TO THE TOP - Widely Considered Her 2nd Worst
2. By Myself - Widely Considered her WORST
3. Deja-vu - Massive improvement and the beginning of her more rockish tracks.
4. h - 1st greatest hits collection, only #1 so far.
5. Thermo Plastic - Stunning solo effort, tracks written and some composed by hitomi alone.
6. LOVE LIFE - her re-birth. Features LOVE 2000, the one single that revitalized her career after a two-year long drought.
7. SELF PORTRAIT - 2nd Greatest Hits collection. Features reworked songs from the h-era
8. HTM ~tiartrop fles~ - her b-side album, stunning.
9. TRAVELER - her most recent album and her most radical change since By Myself/Deja Vu. Changes rock influences for more acoustic folk influences. Her best vocals by far are on this album.

For those of you who still visit this place, Maki Goto's new album "How to use SEXY" came out last week and had first week sales of 11727
It's a great album that everyone should try. Or just try the first track "How to use Loneliness" it's like "SOME BOYS! TOUCH" but less sexy voice but hotter instruments

What do you guys think about the 'Oh My Juliet!' single?.... I was listening to it again recently, and wow, if all 4 of these tracks aren't killer! Each one could've been a single in it's own right IMO.
'Star Bright Love' is super poppy, but never annoyingly so. Fits right in with Tommy's other SAW-inspired tracks like 'Candy Pop In Love' and 'Lovely Boy'.
'Rain Rain Rain' is a stunningly crafted pop song, probably one of Tommy's best IMO.
'I Hold You Tight' is a capital slice of stripped down electro-funk lite (there's a synth that's kinda deep in the mix, but you can hear it better on the fade-out, sounds JUST like a Rick James track, or something he might've done for the Mary Jane Girls).
I'd've been completely happy for Tommy to put her vocals on the tracks (except 'Oh My Juliet' nach) and release them with 'Lonely In Gorgeous' and 'Lovely Boy', and respective b-sides, and call it album #3.

Yep. I'm one of you. I bought Style, Queen Of Hip-Pop and Play while I was in Australia. There's a small Asian music and DVD store in Melbourne that would make you all wetter than Ellen DeGeneres at a Pink concert

Well, it was a fun 2 months of doing nothing in a dead jpop section. But it seems Tonys has de-modded me for no reason and with no warning or explination at all.
Well it was fun while it lasted. I would just like to say thank you to all of my unwavering fans who were here for me throughout this troubling experiance
