Well now that we have gotten past the 3 hours of downtime needed to get updates from the valve content servers below is a list of what the update has done to improve your gaming experience.

Okay the latest valve update seems to be causing alot of trouble as expected. There are a few things clients using the mani admin plugin need to be aware of. All mani plugin modules have been disabled on all servers effective now. This will remain until mani releases an update to cope with the lastest valve update. Apparently there are ways to make it work if you jack aorund with it alot, but we aren't going to be able to modify all the servers on our network.

Also I have heard rumors that VAC2 is not funtioning now after this last update. I don't have any information regarding this matter as of yet. Please post any info you have found here and any fixes you may have come up with on your own so other clients can try them as well.

Once a new mani plugin comes out jchost.net will restore the mani admin plugin and install the latest update for your server. Feel free to email support@jchost.net with questions or post here. Valve strikes again........

VALVe's latest fu|ckup killed mani and vac2 completely.

Rename your addons folder to addons.old if you only have mani in there. Some of you may be running MetaMod, so this is what you need to do.
Go into your addons folder and create a folder called disabled, then place all of the mani addon files in there.

I suggest everyone who has mani ranks to back up your mani ranks files as a precaution to a future update.

When you join, you will get the shield indicating vac2 is functioning, this is up in the air right now. There are people that are saying that its not, others have seen people dropped from servers for vac2 violations. As|sume its secure and dont be a fuc|kin idiot and go on a rampage to the myg0t forums. The only thing you can do right now is play and rely on your console for bans and kicks, thats all for now.

Unfortunately what subzero is saying can not be accomplished at this time unless you were to reinstall the latest mani plugin on your server. We have removed the .dll .vdf and .so files from the /cstrike/addons folders from all the servers running it. We were forced to do this for the overall security and performance of the server. If you feel confident that you can make the above changes feel free to try. Make sure to back up all your data first though in a different folder. Your best bet if you are not an experienced user is just to wait a few days until we can get the mani update and let jchost.net install it for you. Please be careful, the current mani is causing servers to lock up and loop, which in effect will cause lag for all other servers. If we notice a looping server we will be forced shut it down immediately for obvious reasons.

As you are no doubt aware there are a few issues with the latest steam update that has been released.

To stop the crashes you can edit the following cvars in your mani_server.cfg

mani_stats 0
mani_log_mode 0

I have emailed Valve about a possible problem with their latest update and I will wait for Valve's reply or try and find a different method for using their 'FPrintf' command and use that instead in a patch release.

I was going to post another topic into getting Mani to work without the stats, but I have made testing of my own and I do not recommend you to do it. The issue of the server starting up is indeed with the mani logs and stats.

The extent of this problem is much more severe than people will think. First off, you cannot do anything that will allow a log change within Mani. This includes slaying people, changing maps, giving cash, etc. Mani, not the plugin but the architect of the plugin, has said so himself that any command given to initiate a log sequence will force your server to quit and restart to a default map.

As far as backing up your ranks, I didn't explain how to do it. This is what you need to do, you do not need the plugin active in order to do this. Open an FTP session with your server, goto the cfg directory, then go to the mani_admin_plugin directory. You will find a series of files called "mani_stats.dat, mani_rank.whatever, etc..." Copy all of those files and download them to you own computer. This is only a precautionary step, this is not required (so far) to install a future release of the Mani Admin Plugin.

A bit of good news, VAC2 is active. It will say its insecure, its really secure. Servers that say secure on them mean that they haven't recieved the latest update.
